THE Durban Botanical Gardens were alive with the sounds of local talent as Tristan Boltman, a singer from The Bluff, took to the stage at the Old Mutual Music at the Lake Festival. Boltman recounted his experience with palpable excitement. “Performing at the Old Mutual Music at the Lake on July 28 was incredible. The Parlotones were the main act, with Angel Mazibuko and I opening.” His performance featured a dynamic blend of well-loved covers and a selection of his own unreleased originals, capturing the audience’s attention and admiration.
“The rush of performing was indescribable,” Boltman said. “I was incredibly nervous leading up to the concert, but the moment I was announced and saw the 3 000 people in attendance, I went into autopilot. The next thing I knew, it was over. It felt like a fever dream. I thrive on the thrill and excitement of performing on such a big stage in front of so many people.”
Boltman praised the event’s organisation, extending his gratitude to those behind the scenes. “The event was exceptionally well-organised. A massive shoutout to Stu Berry, Impi Concept Events and East Coast Radio for their hospitality. They provided a young local artist with a fantastic opportunity to network and connect within the industry,” he said.
In addition to his memorable performance, Boltman shared exciting news with his fans. “I have a single releasing on August 16. I encourage everyone to stream it and request it on their favourite local radio station.”
