The incident happened after Janine, still recovering from knee surgery two months earlier, lost her balance when she stepped on one of Cypress’s toys. The sudden fall startled Cypress, causing her to fly out of the open door.

Cypress the African Grey parrot is missing.

“Cypress is a friendly and sociable bird with a delightful personality,” Janine shared. “She loves interacting with people and often perches on anyone’s shoulder or head, whether adult or child. She’s particularly fond of the word ‘porridge,’ which she responds to with playful whistling. However, she also has a unique quirk – she’s drawn to biting toes. Cypress is scared of loud noises, so she might be wary if approached suddenly.”

Although Cypress has been missing for months, Janine remains optimistic about her return and is offering a cash reward for her safe recovery.

Anyone with information about Cypress’s whereabouts is encouraged to contact Janine on 083 720 2542 or her sister, Jacky, on 064 903 2919.
