The operation was initiated following intelligence provided by the SAPS regarding suspected drug-related activities at a premises on Marine Drive, The Bluff. Acting on that information, a raid was conducted on the premises by a specialised team.

Approaching the premises from various directions, officers apprehended the suspects inside the property without any incident. During a thorough search they discovered significant quantities of substances like cocaine, which were packaged in various sachets for distribution.

The items seized:

  • 145 grams of suspected cocaine in a bag
  • 39 cream-white sachets of cocaine
  • 36 orange sachets of cocaine
  • 5 green sachets of cocaine
  • A silver scale
  • Two cellphones

The suspects were arrested and were read their constitutional rights. Both suspects were later handed over for further investigation to Brighton Beach police station, together with the seized exhibits.

The success of the operation was the result of seamless collaboration among several specialised units like Trio Crimes A, B and C, EITT Ethekwini District, Crime Intelligence and Hawks  and Tactical Support Unit (TSU)

The Durban Metro Police Service thanked all the teams involved for their commitment, professionalism and cooperation that made the operation a success.
