Widowed and Single Parents buzzing with school supplies donation

Non-profit organisation, Wasp, recently made a generous donation of stationery and school uniforms to learners in need.

Brian Naidoo, the founder of Wasp, said the initiative aimed to assist children as they returned to school. He personally delivered 25 stationery packs and school shoes on January 20 to children in the Merebank area and the Dinnapur Road flats. A week earlier, January 9, he did the same at St. Monica’s Children’s Home with stationery for the learners.

Each stationery pack included hardcover and softcover books, pens, pencils, crayons, lever arch files, and flip files.

“Stationery is a necessity. The children require these items to be able to learn and do their daily work at school and at home. The children of today are our future leaders of tomorrow, and they require our support to grow. Knowledge is power,” he said.

Apart from stationery, Wasp commits to children’s homes throughout Durban South with grocery items to supplement nutrition programmes. “A child with a growling tummy cannot learn,” Naidoo added.

Wasp continues to appeal to the community for contributions toward its projects geared at empowering and uplifting children. Contributions toward their projects can be done through Brian Naidoo on WhatsApp 084 474 6669.
