The event is directed by MTY Productions. Its directors Mario Visagie, Tasnim Luciana Young-Norris, and Yolandi Naicker, said it will be much more than a beauty contest.

Young-Norris said, “We would like our contestants to be role models in the Wentworth community, reflecting the values of leadership and empowerment.” She added that the pageant is not only about the crown; it’s about helping young women soar to greatness.

This pageant is designed with the vision of empowering women and aims to strengthen young women in the community.

The pageant is for unmarried women aged from 16 to 26 and residing in Wentworth, The Bluff and Merebank. There is no restriction set for tattoos, weight and height as in other beauty pageants.

Young-Norris said Miss Wentworth is not just about beauty. “It emphasises personality, talent, intelligence and community service. It encourages self-expression, creativity and personal growth and allows us to celebrate diversity, inclusivity and individuality. Pageantry additionally builds confidence,” said Young-Norris.

The deadline to submit registrations is April 27 and MTY Productions can be reached on 079 497 0326, or 082 707 7169. Alternatively, email mtyproductions01@gmail.com.
