Spokesperson for PT Alarms, Dhevan Govindasamy, said their tactical unit, PT K9 unit and armed response, raced to the scene where the victim had sustained severe bite wounds.

“Gadwal Road Neighbouhood watch was on scene. It is alleged the dogs jumped over the property wall and attacked the victim. This is not the first incident where the dogs have bitten members of the community.

“The victim was stabilised on scene by PT Ambulance Service and rushed to a nearby local hospital for treatment,” said Govindasamy.

The victim sustained bite wounds to her stomach, back and thigh.

“Residents on the road are complaining that the dogs are not well secured and are posing a threat to pedestrians. A child was reportedly bitten as well. This was apparently the second dog attack for the day,” he added.
