The 52-year-old is no stranger to the challenging ultra-marathon, having completed it on 13  occasions.

“Animal welfare is always needed, especially with dogs. With increasing demands to upkeep and help more dogs in need, Blue Bundu Brigade need help to feed their numerous dogs, sterilise and vaccinate them and take care of the vet bills,” said Kitching.

The Blue Bundu Brigade is a non-profit organisation that operates off donations. As the number of dogs in need continues to grow so do the expenses. Kitching  hopes to raise R150 000 to assist Blue Bundu Brigade with their expenses and aspirations.

“Aside from funds, dog food donations, blankets, bowls, collars and toys would be great. If people cannot donate, then at least they can contribute by sharing this fundraiser campaign,” said Kitching.
