Metro police pounce on drug dealers in Wentworth

The first arrest was made in the Croton Road flat complex where a 37-year-old man was arrested after being found with rock cocaine.

METRO police street crime unit and Wentworth police Crime Prevention, in partnership with Metro police K9 and Public Order Policing sections, arrested three suspects in connection with drugs recently.

The first arrest was made in the Croton Road flat complex where a 37-year-old man was arrested after being found with rock cocaine. The police found the drugs concealed in the suspect’s flat.

Captain Greg Beavon said, “The recovered rock cocaine is estimated to be R15 000. The suspect was arrested and charged with dealing in rock cocaine.

“Another suspect, a 19-year-old man, was arrested after being stopped and searched. He was found in possession of heroin capsules and is facing charges of dealing in heroin. The recovered heroin is valued at R660.”

The police operation continued to Woodville Road where another man (50) was arrested after being found in possession of drugs.

“He was charged with dealing in narcotics after a quantity of Mandrax tablets, cocaine powder, rock cocaine and heroin were recovered from the flat. The value of the recovered drugs is R5000,” said Beavon.
