Just in: Police involved in car crash in Merebank

Two police officers are reportedly in a stable condition after the car they were travelling in collided with another near Himalaya Bridge in Merebank.

EMERGENCY services are currently at the scene on Himalaya Road in Merebank after a police car collided with another car near the Himalaya Bridge today (July 21) just after 13:00.

Two police officers were injured, but are reported to be in a stable condition. A third individual from the other vehicle involved is receiving treatment for minor injuries.

According to sources at the scene, the police were coming off the M4 northbound when their vehicle collided with another at the traffic lights near Himalaya Bridge.

Himalaya Road is currently closed to traffic, and motorists are urged to use alternative routes.
