24 substations shut down due to emergency power outage on The Bluff

A massive power outage has hit The Bluff, which has resulted in 24 substations being turned off and many areas left without power.

MANY areas on The Bluff had their power shut off following an emergency power outage affecting 24 substations.

Ward 66 councillor Zoë Solomon said there is a massive emergency shutdown of Donogal and Lighthouse DSS.

Areas likely to be affected are Fynnlands, Oceanview and parts of Brighton Beach. 

Solomon said that restoration is aimed at midnight tonight.

Effective ways to prepare for unexpected power outages:

  1.  Keep torches and batteries handy
  2. Switch off electrical appliances
  3. Prepare a medical emergency kit.
