A FORMER metro cop who murdered his partner will know his fate on April 17, when the Durban Magistrate’s Court hands down the sentence.

“He is currently detained at Westville Prison. He was discharged from metro police,” said Shuping.

In July 2025, the accused was arrested at his house in Woodhaven. He was involved in an altercation with his partner, Mkhize-Sishi, 48, during which he drew a knife and stabbed her multiple times.

Mkhize-Sishi’s daughter, who was sleeping in an outside building, heard her mother screaming for help and went to investigate.

Sources at the time alleged that the daughter encountered her stepfather, Sishi, holding a blood-stained knife while standing over Mkhize-Sishi who was lying on the floor, still breathing.

According to the information received from the police at the time, Mkhize-Sishi’s daughter, who witnessed the incident, ran out of the house to alert other neighbours.

A neighbour transported the victim to hospital, however, she succumbed to her injuries en route.
