Stolen car crashes in Montclair after police chase
Preliminary investigations revealed that the car had been reported stolen from the rural area of Ibisi in Umzimkhulu.
A CAR that was stolen from the Ibisi area near Umzimkhulu, south of KZN, was recovered in Montclair after the suspect crashed into a concreate barrier on the N2 freeway recently.
According to the police their officers were driving on the freeway when they spotted a car being driven recklessly.
The police attempted to stop the driver, but he sped off. During the chase the driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a concrete barrier. After the crash the driver abandoned the car and fled before police arrived at the scene.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the car had been reported stolen from the rural area of Ibisi in Umzimkhulu.

Police spokesperson in Montclair, Constable Nora Ndlovu, said, “Police investigations revealed that the car was stolen from the rural area of Ibisi. It was brought to Montclair police station while the detectives’ investigations are underway.”
Police are working to trace the suspect who fled the scene.
Montclair police have urged anyone who may have information about the suspect or the vehicle theft to come forward and assist with the investigation.
