Level 2 weather warning issued for KZN
A thunderstorm seems to be looming over eThekwini, as the South African Weather Service issues a Level 2 warning.
THE South African Weather Service has issued a yellow Level 2 weather warning for the eThekwini region in KZN from today, April 16, until tomorrow evening (April 17). Durban South residents are to remain on high alert for heavy rains and stormy weather.

Forecasts indicate widespread showers and severe thunderstorms across eThekwini.
What to expect:
- Heavy downpours
- Strong, damaging winds
- Excessive lightning
- Hail is anticipated
- Flooding is expected on roads, bridges and low-lying areas
Residents are urged to take the following precautionary measures:
- Stay indoors and off the roads if possible.
- Avoid crossing rivers and swollen streams.
- If trapped in a vehicle during a flood, abandon it and climb to higher ground.
- In buildings, move valuable items to a safe place above the expected flood level.
- In rural areas, move livestock to higher ground.
