Core faith: Strengthening the spirit and body

Trinity Family Church women gathered for a morning of guided prayer and fitness to build both the spirit and body.

THE Trinity Family Church women convened at Ansteys Beach on April 18 for a morning of prayer and wellness. The aim of this gathering was to engage in a morning dedicated to both spiritual reflection and physical exercise.

Pastor Lee-Ann Nair, organiser of the event, said the prayer and pilates event was an igniter event to emphasise the critical balance between faith and fitness.

“In recent times, we have encountered many women displaying high levels of stress and worry, especially during these uncertain times and it got me thinking, Women who are mothers and wives are the backbone of their families, need to focus on their self-development,” said Nair.

Around 40 women, representing a variety of cultural backgrounds, answered pastor Nair’s call to grow their faith and stay fit. The morning commenced with structured prayer sessions before transitioning into pilates exercises, interweaving periods of quiet contemplation with physical activity.

Nair said that the reception to the event was positive, with hopeful plans to have another prayer and pilates event in the future. “Creating a culture of prayer and fitness is always a positive,” said Nair. 

Trinity Family Church aims to cultivate and a grow a community rooted in unwavering faith and personal empowerment.
