Mom desperate to reunite with missing son

Shirley Paul is calling on the community to help locate her son Jesse Lee Paul who has been missing for almost a year.

ALMOST a year has passed since The Bluff’s Jesse Lee Paul has been missing and now his family is reaching out desperately for the public’s support in locating him. Jesse Lee Paul went missing on May 25, 2025.

Shirley Paul, Jesse’s mother, said she has experienced a heavy emotional toll due to this prolonged uncertainty. Nearly a year of not knowing her son’s location, but she remains determined that he will come home. 

“I appeal to anybody to please assist with any information regarding my son, it’s almost a year this has devastated and hit our family very hard. I humbly ask to please assist any bit of information that will assist in finding my son,” said Shirley. 

She said his absence is felt by his son, fiancé and family. 

“I also would like to thank the many that are praying and encouraging us as a family, we appreciate you,” said Shirley.

Last appearance

Jesse was last seen wearing blue short pants, navy blue jacket and red slippers. He also had his hair dyed blonde at the time,

Hawks’ response

The case is being pursued by the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (Hawks).

Lieutenant Colonel Simphiwe Mhlongo, a spokesperson for the Hawks, confirmed that they had indeed opened an inquiry into Jesse’s disappearance.

“We can confirm that members from the Hawks’ Durban Serious Organised Crime Investigation unit have registered an inquiry concerning the missing Jesse Paul. We urge anyone with information to contact us,” said Mhlongo.

Shirley added that there will be a reward for any vital information that leads to locating her son.
