Just in: Multi-car pile-up on M4 leaves numerous injured

Four cars and one truck were involved in a multi-car pile up on the M4 Southern Freeway, leaving multiple people injured.

A SERIOUS multi-vehicle collision unfolded on the M4 Southern Freeway today (June 2), involving four cars and one truck. The accident has left 12 people with moderate to serious injuries.

Garrith Jamieson, a spokesperson for ALS Paramedics, said that ALS paramedics had arrived on scene to find a multiple car pile up.

“At this stage, it is reported as many as four vehicles and a truck are involved in a collision with multiple casualties sustaining various injuries. Multiple paramedics are in attendance, stabilising the injured people,” said Jamieson

Disruption in traffic

The collision had a notable impact on traffic, disrupting most of the southbound freeway lanes as emergency crews continued their operations. Jamieson advised motorists to avoid this area at all costs.

The cause of the collision was unknown.
