The challenge offers qualifying entrepreneurs a chance to showcase their businesses, and potentially, receive new equipment and direct support. The idea is to boost productivity and help them expand their operations.
The eThekwini Municipality said it is specifically aimed at young entrepreneurs, those between 18 and 35 years old, who had already been running their businesses for at least 12 months and had it formally registered.
According to the municipality, the challenge is meant to offer practical assistance, helping young business owners clear some of the hurdles that often kept them from growing. It also aimed to foster innovation and entrepreneurship in communities.
