John Dunn home seeks community’s support

In honour of Mandela Day coming up, the Tafta John Dunn home is looking to upgrade its garden with the support of the community.

THE Association for the Aged (Tafta) is looking to renovate its John Dunn home for this year’s Mandela Day project on July 18. The project focuses on redoing the main entrance walkway and the surrounding garden area.

This effort is designed to provide a more suitable environment for the elderly residents and to accommodate visitors and families more effectively.

The home said through the generosity of volunteers, residents, staff, and supporters, much of the work and materials have already been secured.

Required material

They are only awaiting a few more items in order to make this upgrade possible.

  • Autumn coloured decorative stones/pebbles
  • Plastic sheeting (for under the stones/pebbles)
  • Solar garden lights

Tafta said that the project serves to improve the daily surroundings of the residents. The organisation is seeking contributions from the public and the business sector to finalise the renovation. The home welcomes direct donations of materials or monetary support.
