Ernest Kettle, from the club, said Devlin Dolan, in a devastating spell of swing bowling with the wind, captured nine Umlazi wickets.

“This was a commendable spell of fast bowling which aided Quins to dismiss Umlazi for 82 runs, all out in 20 overs. Devlin’s continuous spell of nine overs just conceded 16 runs. Quins response was clinical. In an attempt to beat the impending rain coming from the north east, Michael Karam making 32 runs and Keshav Govender, 29 runs, combined solid defensive technique with aggression, in requiring just 16 overs to surpass Umlazi’s score. ‘Quins won by 8 wickets taking 5 match points and extending their lead at the top of KwaZulu-Natal Cricket Union (KZNCU) promotion league match. This concludes the first half of the league match season,” he said.

The club’s sixers competition will take place at the Harlequins sports field on December 16, starting at 07:00.
