Update: Police need help identifying man washed up at Cuttings Beach

The deceased is currently being kept at the Pinetown Government Mortuary for identification.

WENTWORTH police are appealing for assistance from the community in identifying a man who was washed up at Cuttings Beach in Merebank on Monday, January 9.
Captain Mbuso Gumede, the Wentworth police spokesperson, said police were informed of a body of an unknown male floating in the sea near the shore at about 13:45.
“The Search and Rescue unit, who were immediately contacted, proceeded to the beach and removed the deceased’s body from the sea.
“The deceased is currently being kept at the Pinetown Government Mortuary for identification. The investigating officer is appealing to any relatives or anyone with information to come forward,” he said.
