Wings Athletic Club ready to hit the road once again

The athletic club welcomes runners to join its road running and group running events.

FOLLOWING a period of dormancy, the Wings Athletic Club in Wentworth has been revitalised, reigniting its commitment to fostering community unity and wellness through collective physical activity.

The decision to breathe new life into the club stems from a profound longing to revive the sense of camaraderie that defined its earlier years. André Louis, the club’s captain, emphasised the significance of physical activity in bridging social divides, expressing the club’s aim to unite individuals from diverse backgrounds, thus promoting inclusivity and mutual understanding.

“At the core of our revival lies a dedication to fostering positive change,” stated Louis. “We aspire to offer constructive and enriching activities to our youth, guiding them away from potential negative influences while instilling a sense of communal responsibility,” said Louis.

The Wings Athletic Club does not simply prioritise physical fitness; it nurtures a distinct culture of resilience and collective empowerment.

“Our club serves as a supportive network where members face challenges together. We celebrate individual accomplishments and contribute to addressing broader community issues,” Louis explained.

In addition to organising group runs, the club intends to actively engage with the community, raising awareness about social concerns and inspiring unified action.
