The programme consisted of a variety of vivid performances prepared by the children, including songs, dances and recitations, which they had mastered well. Each child took time on stage sharing something special about either their grandmothers or grandfathers. After performances, the families gathered to enjoy snacks and refreshments, adding even more cosiness to the joyful atmosphere.
The teacher at Super Stars Educare, Jyothi Chandra, explained that the reason behind the event was to celebrate the role of grandparents in the lives of the children.
“We are having this celebration because we recognise that grandparents hold a very significant place in children’s lives. They provide unconditional love, wisdom and support, hence we wanted to create an occasion honouring and celebrating that special bond,” she said.
There was also a special photo session for each child with his or her grandparent, which captured this memory forever.
“It was so touching to witness the joy in the faces of the children and grandparents. The event brought the community together and bonded families. Grandparents shared how much they appreciated the thoughtful gestures; kids were excited to show what they had worked on,” she added.
Beyond the family fun times, Grandparents’ Day gave meaning to children showing appreciation and reconnecting the bond between the different generations.
