Three-day blood drive: The Bluff community’s support saves 408 lives

A total of 136 blood donations were received over the weekend during a blood donation drive held at the Bluff Towers Donor Clinic.

THE Bluff community has once again shown its unwavering commitment to making a difference in the lives of others by rallying behind the three-day RTL8/SANBS blood drive from March 21-23.

In an inspiring display of solidarity and generosity, a total of 136 blood donations were received over the weekend, which means an astonishing 408 lives have been saved, according to Shaun Venter of the RTL8 group.

“The South African National Blood Service (SANBS) team expressed their heartfelt gratitude in a special message to Shaun and the RTL8 team, praising the overwhelming support and dedication shown by the community. They were elated by the remarkable turnout and the level of commitment that was demonstrated throughout the drive,” said Venter.

Message from the SANBS team:

“Words cannot describe the heartfelt gratitude the staff of Bluff Towers Donor Clinic have for you and the RTL8 group. The level of commitment towards our organisation is phenomenal. We are so blessed to be bestowed with individuals that pride themselves on saving lives. We would like to extend our gratitude to each and every single person from the community and surrounding areas for their donation of life-saving blood,” said SANBS in a statement.

Venter added, “On behalf of everyone at the RTL8 team, a big thank you goes out to all those who participated. This collective effort has made an enormous impact, saving 408 precious lives.”

He said this success is a testament to the strength and compassion of The Bluff community.
