The Tafta flash sale was once again a hit, as residents, community members and even donors partook in the fun.
THE Association for the Aged (Tafta) combined fundraising with creating memories at the Primrose Wellness Centre when it hosted its much-loved flash sale at the John Dunn Home on July 10.

Kim Simmonds, the centre’s wellness activity co-ordinator, said the flash sale has become a highlight for the residents. It has become an integral event at the home as it is aimed at improving the lives of the elderly through skills development, income generation and reduced social isolation.
The sale featured a range of second-hand treasures like clothing, footwear, accessories, jewellery, kitchenware, homeware and tasty treats, all donated by residents and supporters.
The day brought together the residents, community members and donors who all contributed to a successful sale.
“We saw a need in the community for second-hand sales to provide community members with the opportunity to purchase items at affordable rates. Many of the items on sale are generously gifted to us by donors who support the raising of funds through the resale of these items. The funds raised through the sale assists the Primrose Wellness Centre to continue with daily operations that provide elders with activities to promote skill development and holistic wellbeing,” said Simmonds.
The sale not only raises funds but allows the elderly citizens to develop entrepreneurship skills.
Simmonds extended her gratitude to all those who assisted in making the day a success.
