Tips to help prepare your little one for the new school year
Here are some interesting and helpful ways to help get your little one prepared for the new schooling year in 2026.
THE New Year is upon us and with that comes the start of a new academic year. Many little ones are preparing for their next journey in their schooling career while some are just beginning theirs. A lot of stress will be involved from getting them ready in the morning to the tears and sad faces as you leave them in their new classes. It’s a nightmare for some parents.

So this coming new year, try to be more prepared and help prepare them to deal with their school day successfully.
- Start putting them on an early sleep schedule. Get them on a new sleep pattern so they will wake up refreshed and on time.
- Let your child know what his schedule will be like. Tell him what time school begins and ends each day.
- Ask your child about his/her feelings – both the excitement and the concerns about starting school.
- Visit the school with your child to see his/her new classroom and meet his/her new teacher before school officially starts.
- Point out the positive aspects of starting school. It will be fun and they can make new friends.
- Let your child know that all kids are nervous about the first day of school.
- Once they are comfortable and know what to expect, your children will have a fun and stress free first day.
