Drugs worth over R170k seized in Montclair

The police found cocaine worth over R170 000 packaged in plastic wrapping and glass containers on South Coast Road.

THE KZN provincial Drug and Firearms Unit members recovered drugs estimated at a street value of almost R170 000 in Montclair recently.

According to Captain Carmen Rhynes, the police received information about the suspect who was in possession of drugs. The drugs were reportedly going to be distributed in Umlazi on the same day.

Upon receiving the information the police proceeded to South Coast Road where they spotted the suspect’s vehicle.

“Police moved swiftly and intercepted the suspect’s vehicle. He was arrested and found in possession of cocaine packaged in plastic wrapping and glass containers. The drugs recovered are estimated at a street value of almost R170 000. His vehicle was also seized,” said Rhynes.

The suspect is expected to appear in court soon.
