JUST IN: Tragic discovery of burnt infant on The Bluff

The young baby had sustained extensive injuries, including burns, and died at Brighton Beach on The Bluff.

EMERGENCY services are currently at the scene at Brighton Beach near the braai area where a deceased infant has been found burnt in the bushes.

Spokesperson for ALS Paramedics, Garrith Jamieson said paramedics responded to the scene together with the police just after 14:00 today (January 21).

“A passerby had made the gruesome discovery while walking. Paramedics assessed the infant and found that the young baby had sustained extensive injuries including burns and unfortunately had passed away. The infant was declared deceased on the scene. At this stage the events leading up to this incident are unknown however the (police) will be investigating further,” said Jamieson.
