NEW members of the Montwood Subforum and Montclair Community Police Forum Youth Desk Executive Committee were elected at a meeting at Tray Bang Memorial Hall in Montclair on March 18.

Six nominated members and three additional members per group accepted their positions, marking the start of a fresh leadership term.

Spokesperson for Montclair police station Constable Nora Ndlovu said the elections were successful.

Chairperson for the Montclair Community Police Forum Youth Desk Executive Committee, Ntokozo Cele, said: “I am deeply honoured to be nominated as chairperson. This is not just a position for me. It is a responsibility to ensure that the voice, energy, and potential of young people are fully recognised and actively included in shaping our community. My mission is clear, it is to mobilise, empower, and position the youth at the forefront of community safety, development, and decision-making.”

He said he is committed to building strong, impactful partnerships with stakeholders, NGOs, NPOs, and NPCs to create real opportunities and lasting change.

He added, “As I take on this role, I remain proudly the co-founder of Youth Mindset Empowerment, a platform that continues to drive youth development and community transformation. Together, we are not just preparing young people for the future, but we are empowering them to lead it.”

The following new leaders of the Montwood Subforum were elected at the meeting:

• Deevashen Munsamy (deputy chairperson)
• Charlie Drury (secretary)
• Antoinette Wilson (deputy secretary)
• Colin Kenneth (treasurer)
• Nonkululeko Hlongwane-Mhlongo (public relations officer)
