Three people injured in M4 car crash

The car crash involved a truck and light motor vehicle near the offramp by Quality Street on the M4 southbound in Merewent.

THREE people sustained injuries following a serious collision between a truck and light motor vehicle yesterday afternoon (March 30). The incident took place on the M4 southbound near the Quality Street offramp in Merewent.

Garrith Jamieson, a spokesperson for Advanced Life Support (ALS) Paramedics, said that emergency services were called to the location shortly before 15:00.

“Paramedics arrived on the scene to find the badly damaged vehicle against the rear of the truck. Immediately a triage was done, and three occupants had sustained various injuries. ALS Paramedics worked to stabilise the injured on scene before they were transported to various hospitals for the further care that they required,” said Jamieson.

The cause of the collision is being investigated the SAPS.
