NOTICE NOTICE OF BASIC ASSESSMENT. Notice is hereby given in terms of the National Environmental Management Act (No. 107 of 1998) (NEMA) of the intent to undertake an activity listed under the 2014 Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Regulations (as amended in 2017). The activity is for the proposed expansion of the existing Steelpoort Mall onto Erven 3560 and 3561, Steelpoort, Limpopo Province. The project is listed as follows:
•GNR.983 of 2014 (as amended), Listing Notice 1, Activity 27: “The clearance of an area of 1 hectare or more, but less than 20 hectares of indigenous vegetation, excluding where such clearance of indigenous vegetation is required for – i. The undertaking of a linear activity; or ii.Maintenance purposes undertaken in accordance with a maintenance management plan”. Prior to undertaking the activities listed in GNR.983 of 2014 (as amended), Environmental Authorisation (EA) has to be obtained from the relevant provincial environmental authority: The Limpopo Department of Economic Development, Environment and Tourism (LEDET).
