NOTICE OF APPLICATION
Notice is hereby given, in terms of the Firearms Control Act 60 of 2000 (`the Act`) and the Firearms Control Regulations (GN R345 of 2004, as amended), that Mmatondi (Pty) Ltd (`the Applicant`) intends to apply to the Registrar of Firearms, South African Police Service (`SAPS`), for the accreditation of an outdoor small arms shooting range situated at the above address.
The proposed shooting range is intended to accommodate recreational sports shooting, firearms training, and adventure tourism activities forming part of the Mmatondi (Pty) Ltd outdoor adventure and recreation destination.
The range will be designed and constructed to comply with the Compulsory Specification for Small Arms Shooting Ranges (VC9088), as published under Government Notice No. R. 643 (Government Gazette No. 26375) of 28 May 2004 and updated by Government Notice No. 518 of 12 June 2015 (Government Gazette No. 38877), as administered by the National Regulator for Compulsory Specifications (`NRCS`) under the National Regulator for Compulsory Specifications Act 5 of 2008.
INVITATION TO SUBMIT REPRESENTATIONS OR OBJECTIONS
Any person who has an interest in or objection to this application is hereby invited to submit written representations or objections to the Applicant and to the relevant Designated Firearms Officer (DFO) at the address set out below, within 30 (thirty) calendar days from the date of publication of this notice.
Any representations or objections must be submitted in writing and must clearly set out the grounds upon which they are based. In terms of the Promotion of Administrative Justice Act 3 of 2000 (`PAJA`), all interested parties are entitled to procedurally fair administrative action and the right to be heard.
Representations or objections received after the closing date of 19 June 2026 will not be considered.
