NOTICE OF A RECTIFICATION APPLICATION FOR THE CONTINUATION OF ACTIVITIES IDENTIFIED IN TERMS OF THE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT REGULATIONS AND WASTE MANAGEMENT REGULATIONS READ WITH SECTION 24(G) OF THE NATIONAL ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT ACT, 1998 (ACT NO. 107 OF 1998) (NEMA) (AS AMENDED) FOR FERROUS CASTING (PTY) LTD, SITUATED AT 70 STEVENTON ROAD, BOKSBURG NORTH, WITHIN THE CITY OF EKURHULENI METROPOLITAN MUNICIPALITY Notice is hereby given in terms of Section 24(G) read together with Section 24(F) of the National Environmental Management Amendment Act, 2004 (Act No. 8 of 2004) (NEMA) (as amended). The Gauteng Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (GDARD) is considering an application for rectification by Ferrous Casting (Pty) Ltd in terms of Sections 24(G) and 24(F) of the National Environmental Management Amendment Act, 2004 (Act No. 8 of 2004) (as amended) for the unlawful commencement of activities listed in terms of Government Notice R984 of 2014 (as amended by Government Notice R325 of April 2017), as well as for the unlawful commencement of waste management activities identified in terms of (GN) R.921 (dated 29 November 2013) of the National Environmental Management: Waste Act, 2008 (Act No. 59 of 2008) (as amended) (NEM: WA) for the existing ferrous Casting operations on Portion 70 of the Farm Klipfontein, 83-IR.
NATURE OF THE PROJECT:
The development of the site`s facilities commenced for the first time in November 2025. The Application for Rectification is being made in terms of the: NEMA: Activity 6 of (GN) R.984 of the 2014 NEMA Environmental Impact Assessment Regulations (as amended) and; NEM: WA: Category A: Activity Number 3 (3), (6) and (12).
