
EDITOR – Just a short note on our ‘lovely’ water and lights department.
Having had water and no electricity on our monthly bill for the last three months, we went to query this, only to be told that our electricity metre was disconnected in June.
This then results in a huge electricity bill of about six months, so keep an eye on your account.
However, this is utter rubbish as our meter has been and still is running as per normal, never mind that we have remote controlled access gates to the property. ‘Too bad,’ we were sarcastically told. So we paid the reconnection fee. Apparently they can disconnect you on their system without disconnecting the meter at your property, so what’s to stop them picking properties at random and doing the same?
The water is another complaint. We had to pay two reconnection fees and one tampering fee – come on people, the new water meters cannot be tampered with, as you need a special key and our water has been on all the time.
So beware your monthly bill – querying is pointless, it’s pay up or else.
