Local is not always lekker

EDITOR – Why support local business?

Having lived on the Bluff, in the same house for more than 35 years, I do believe that residents should support their local businesses whenever possible.

But, being recently widowed there are some property repairs that I have found difficult to do without assistance and fixing the pool pump is one of them.

When my pool pump started making strange noises I phoned three different pool repair people/companies in a space of two weeks. Not one of these has had the decency to even return my call.

Only with the help of an ex-neighbour have I found someone to repair and recondition the pool motor. My grateful thanks to her and the retired gentleman who repaired the pump. At least I have been able to support the retired community.

So no, I will not support local business and wouldn’t recommend them either.
