EDITOR – I would like to reply to your letter writer ‘Wildlife enthusiast’ who suggests that flying model aircrafts in the public park next to Harlequins rugby field has chased away the birds.
I would like to remind him that some of those birds migrate in winter. Only electric powered planes are allowed to fly on this field, and they make no noise.
The birds sometimes fly with us, those on the ground and those in the trees just carry on normally. So, I suggest that ‘Wildlife enthusiast’ looks somewhere else for the cause and stop blaming us modellers.
