Wentworth Bowling Club hosts Heritage Day fun bowls
In a game that saw some almost impossible shots winning the ends, it was Troy Garland, Denzil Lewis and Wayne Booysen, who won through and will collect the trophy at the club prize-giving.
TWO club championship titles were decided at Wentworth Bowling Club (WBC) last weekend.
On Saturday, September 18, Dawn Spack and Eileen du Plessis ensured their names were recorded in gold on the honours board when they won the women’s nominated pairs final.
Sunday, September 19, saw the six men involved in the men’s drawn trips final take to the green in an endeavor to claim championship status. In a game that saw some almost impossible shots winning the ends, it was Troy Garland, Denzil Lewis and Wayne Booysen, who won through and will collect the trophy at the club prize-giving.
A fun day is on the calendar on Heritage Day, Friday, September 24. Families are invited to the club to join in the planned activities, there will be fun bowls at 10:00 followed by a special lunch of savoury pancakes (with a choice of fillings) smothered in a cheesy béchamel sauce.
The afternoon will involve some fun karaoke with Chantell. The club is working on creating a friendly space for families and youngsters can enjoy the newly installed play park at the club. Those not wishing to bowl have the benefit of the tea garden set in the tranquil Wildflower Nursery.
