Ridgeview FC clinch second place in Carabao Cup

RIDGEVIEW FC took part in the fiercely competitive Carabao Cup tournament recently held at the Ogle Road sportsgrounds in Wentworth.

The event showcased the talents of four strong teams: Ridgeview FC, Crusaders FC, Masidlale FC and Valley Saints, all vying for the coveted title.

Kicking off their campaign with a display of remarkable skill, Ridgeview FC secured an impressive 4-0 victory against Valley Saints, setting a high standard for their performance in the tournament.

However, the intensity of the competition heightened as Masidlale FC narrowly defeated Valley Saints 3-2 in a closely contested match.

As the tournament progressed, tensions rose further with a thrilling draw between Valley Saints and Crusaders FC in the third fixture.

In the eagerly awaited final match, Ridgeview FC and Crusaders FC, the top contenders, engaged in an intense battle for the Carabao Cup title.

Ridgeview FC’s goals were netted by Luke Motala, Cameron Simathri and Rudeshan Naidoo.

Ultimately, despite Ridgeview FC’s valiant efforts, Crusaders FC emerged victorious with a narrow 5-4 win in the closely contested final. Although Ridgeview FC narrowly missed out on the title, their outstanding performance throughout the tournament earned them a well-deserved second place.

Ridgeview FC manager Tracey Williams expressed pride in her team’s performance, highlighting their dedication on the field. She noted areas for improvement, showing a commitment to further development despite the outcome.
