Clean-up campaign a success
Residents ran out of plastic bags at a clean-up.
Lily of the Valley held a clean-up campaign on Saturday in Extension four, mobilsing the community to take part.
“We filled up about 500 bags, we would’ve liked to continue but we ran out of plastic bags,” Fozia Chomey from Lily of the Valley said.
They have such campaigns about four times a year.
The organisation also has a feeding scheme where they feed over 500 children twice a week.
“We started with 100 children 14 years ago and now we have grown to 600 children,” Chomey said.
They recently sponsored elderly women with gowns.
“We appreciate any form of donations that we receive.
The clean-up campaign ended with a meal for over 400 children.
