Police swoop on criminals in Eldorado Park and Westbury
Suspects linked to violent crime and drug trafficking were arrested in Johannesburg South and Ekurhuleni.
Fifteen suspects were arrested by the Anti-Gang Unit (AGU) during a series of targeted operations in Eldorado Park, Westbury, Riverlea, Booysens, and Germiston that began on October 21.
The arrests were linked to various serious offences, including drug possession, possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition, attempted murder, possession of a stolen vehicle, pointing of a firearm, and possession of counterfeit cigarettes.

According to Sergeant Roxanne Gibb, the operations led to the recovery of several illegal items.
“The AGU seized mandrax and Mylan tablets, crystal meth, dagga, firearms, ammunition, magazines, holsters, cartridges, a stolen vehicle, and illicit cigarettes,” she confirmed.
The operations were carried out in collaboration with SAPS Crime Intelligence, the Tactical Response Team (TRT), and Public Order Policing Springs, resulting in several key arrests.
Among the confiscated items were two 9mm pistols, 14 rounds of live ammunition, two magazines, 17 ziplock bags containing crystal meth, and a vehicle reported stolen under a Norkem Park SAPS case.

In separate incidents, a 24-year-old suspect was arrested in Riverlea for attempted murder, while a 43-year-old man was apprehended for pointing a firearm after both were positively identified by their victims.
All the arrested suspects have appeared before their respective courts.
