It was reported that at approximately 16:00, a Mercedes Benz collided with a cash van on Modjadji Road in Pimville.

The driver continued driving until Klipspruit Valley, where approximately 10 suspects started shooting at the cash van and used explosives to access the vehicle.

Security guards had their firearms disarmed; however, no money was taken and no injuries were reported.
The suspects have since fled in two cars, including a grey Lexus.

Gauteng police spokesperson, Captain Tintswalo Sibeko, confirmed that the matter is under investigation by the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigations (DPCI).
