Butchery managers arrested for employing undocumented foreign nationals
Six additional undocumented foreign nationals were arrested during a separate operation.
The manager and HR manager of MTN Butchery were arrested on May 20 for allegedly employing five undocumented foreign nationals.
The butchery is located at the corner of Plein and Klein Street in Johannesburg.
The two suspects have been charged with contravening the Immigration Act and are currently being detained at Johannesburg Central SAPS.

“At a separate scene, six undocumented foreign nationals were also arrested,” said the spokesperson of JMPD, Xolani Fihla.
“This serves as a stern reminder to all business owners that employing undocumented foreign nationals is illegal and a direct violation of the laws of our country.
“Compliance with immigration and labour legislation is not optional. It is a legal obligation. Let us all respect and uphold the laws of South Africa. Failure to do so will result in serious legal consequences.”
