Water interruptions expected in parts of Soweto

Planned Rand Water maintenance will disrupt the water supply in parts of Soweto’s Region D from today to January 8, with alternative water points provided.

Residents in some areas of Soweto, Region D, can expect water interruptions as a result of maintenance work that will be conducted by Rand Water from today, January 6, until 08:00 on January 8.

Johannesburg Water has confirmed that the following operation would affect the water supply. In a bid to mitigate the effects on the community, alternative water points would be provided within the region.

It is encouraged that people make preparations in advance by stockpiling water for domestic use and exploring other options, if possible, especially for such groups as senior citizens, children, schools, and health facilities.

Schools and child care centres, and small businesses operating within the affected area, are urged to develop contingency plans.
