Villa of Hope Children’s Home gets a helping hand

During the visit, the children actively participated in singing and initiated push-up competitions and races with Clete Stevis, Founder and Director of HEF, and Sheldon Tatchell, Founder and owner of Legends Barbershop.

The Dis-Chem Foundation, together with the Humanitarian Empowerment Fund (HEF) and Legends Barbers, recently visited the Villa of Hope Children’s Home in Nancefield for a day of fun and to identify the need for establishing a nutritious garden at the facility.

The home provides a nurturing environment for 48 children who have faced various hardships, including abuse, abandonment, neglect, and orphanhood.

It comprises of eight houses on the property, with each house accommodating six children under the care of a dedicated house mother.

Upon reaching the age of 18, the children transition into a structured exit programme designed to assist them in becoming responsible and contributing community members.

During the visit, the children actively participated in singing and initiated push-up competitions and races with Clete Stevis, Founder and Director of HEF, and Sheldon Tatchell, Founder and owner of Legends Barbershop.

Additionally, the Legends Barber team provided the children with stylish haircuts, enhancing their experience.

These engagements left a lasting impression on all participants, creating cherished memories of the day.
