Eldos family seeks help after elderly man goes missing

Charles Joshua Myers (65) was last seen on July 9, when he left his home at around 19:00.

It has been over four months since Charles Joshua Myers (65), affectionately known as Myers, vanished from his home in Old Eldorado Park, leaving his family in a state of distress.

Myers was last seen on July 9, when he left his home at 19:00.

He wore a blue denim jean, red T-shirt, grey hoodie, and a grey cap. Myers has a distinctive pirate tattoo on his left arm, green eyes, and brownish hair.

He is of average build and weighs around 60kg.

Despite an extensive search effort, Myers’s whereabouts remain unknown. His sister, Rosemary Heldsinger, expressed the family’s devastation and desperation for any information that could lead to Myers’s safe return.

“We have looked everywhere, checked hospitals, mortuaries, and even private mortuaries in the area.

“We reached out to nearby hospitals, including Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital, Helen Joseph Hospital and other hospitals in Boksburg and Germiston,” Heldsinger said.

“We are pleading with the public to come forward with any information that could help us find Myers.”

The National Missing Persons Tracing Unit and SAPS are working together to locate Myers.
