Joy turns to horror as Pimville mother watches son beaten to death

Siphelele was severely beaten after his friend stole from someone and framed him on May 11.

What was supposed to be a celebratory moment for a mother turned into a gruesome memory she will never forget when her son was beaten to death in Pimville Zone 1, Soweto, on May 11.

Nomsa Mazibuko, the mother of deceased Siphelele Blessing Moshiane (29), relives seeing her son being beaten to death without being able to help him.

Background

It is alleged that Moshiane’s friend had stolen a phone belonging to a man who had passed out in his car at a bus station close to UJ Soweto.

He stole the man’s phone, wallet and jacket and went to his friend, the deceased, to ask for a pin to remove the SIM card.

It is said that Moshiane took the phone from his friend, saying the friend owed him.

That is when the friend returned to the car from which he had stolen the items, intending to set up Moshiane as the one who had stolen the phone.

Nomsa Mazibuko, the mother of the deceased, shared how she saw her son being beaten up.

As the deceased walked out of his room, he was met by his friend and the owner of the phone. That is when he was dragged out of the yard and beaten.

Mazibuko told the Urban News that she heard noises outside and went to check. What she found was her son being beaten.

“It seemed as if this man was a beast. He threw my son towards the wall, and my son’s head and body hit it.

“I recall asking what had happened, but got no answer, not even from my child.

“I called my mentally challenged sister from the house to bring my phone to ask for help. When she came out, she was screaming. The man wanted to hit her. I stopped him,” she said.

Nomsa Mazibuko points out the wall that had her son’s blood stains on it.

The deceased was then taken to the Baragwanath Hospital and declared dead on May 12 due to internal bleeding in his head.
