Entities give back to community of Pimville for 67 minutes

To celebrate 67 minutes, the community of Pimville gathered to receive food parcels and a hearty meal.

To commemorate Mandela Day, Merchants of Light and Miss Earth joined forces to give back to the community of Pimville at Pimville Community Centre.

This day is usually celebrated in remembrance of the former president’s contribution to the culture of peace and freedom, and what better way you bring it into our communities.

Joy Magagula- Miss Earth Air (first runner up) and Thembi Mathebula- Miss Earth Fire(third runner up).

The elderly and youngsters of the community came out in numbers as the entities partnered with retailers such as Kitkat Cash and Carry to be able to gather what was needed for the food parcels that included fruits and vegetables, and a warm blanket.

Ella Bella from Merchants of Light shared that the whole point of the day is to give back to the community.

“We hope to share light, love and hope with these packages. This day is all about carrying the legacy of Madiba and the spirit of unity and sharing the little that we have,” she said.
