Ford hands over 19 vehicles to expand outreach to vulnerable children
Ford Motor Company handed over 19 vehicles to a children’s fund in Johannesburg, helping it expand its reach to underserved communities and support more vulnerable children across SA.
The Ford Motor Company of Southern Africa handed 19 vehicles to the Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund (NMCF) in Johannesburg on July 31.
This marked a milestone in the 30-year journey of the NMCF’s impactful work in SA.
The handover was through a three-year loan agreement, with the option to retain them permanently.

This partnership aims to expand the fund’s reach and support for vulnerable children across the nation.
According to Sibusiso Zwane, the CFO at the NMCF, the partnership was formed almost a year ago.
“Ford has entrusted us with the important task of ensuring these vehicles are well cared for. It is my duty to ensure that all risks associated with these vehicles are covered,” he said.

“Through this collaboration, we hope to reach children and empower those often left behind.
“I’m also hoping that, through this partnership, our pool of children will expand, because with Ford vehicles, there’s no reason why we can’t go to any part of SA,” said Dr Linda Ncube-Nkomo, the CEO of the NMCF.
The president of Ford Motor Company Africa, Neale Hill, said, “The Ford Motor Company understands the importance of legacy, giving back and creating meaningful, lasting impact.

“At Ford, we believe in supporting projects that make a lasting difference. For us, this is not a corporate social responsibility programme, but a lasting commitment that makes a difference in people’s lives.”
Hill emphasised that this initiative is a practical demonstration of Ford’s global purpose.
“Our global purpose is to build an d pursue their dreams,” he concluded.
