Soweto dancer Tsholofelo ‘Tsholo4elo’ Ndaba takes pantsula to global stage
Born in Pimville, Soweto, Tsholofelo Ndaba has turned his passion for pantsula into an international journey, representing South Africa at Ballet Beyond Borders and founding the Tsholo4elo Group to empower aspiring artists.
Born and raised in Soweto’s Pimville, Tsholofelo Ndaba, known as‘ Tsholo4elo’, has honed his talent in dance. His skill has led him to big stages, where he expresses himself through his art.
His professional journey began in 2017, doing pantsula rehearsals, performances, school battles and other events. Pantsula, a syncopated, quick-stepping street dance from the townships, combines traditional African dance, tap, jive and hip-hop to tell stories of community, resilience and hope.

“Dance has shaped my life. I grew up surrounded by friends drawn onto dangerous paths like gangs, drugs and alcohol.
“Dance has always been my escape; it gave me purpose and a way to navigate the noisy and chaotic world around me,’’ said Ndaba.
Over the past three years, he represented SA online at Ballet Beyond Borders (a dance collective and global movement celebrating cultural exchange, artistic excellence and social impact) and earned an invitation to participate in the 2026 event in Montana, USA.

Ndaba has created the Tsholo4elo Group. He described it as a ‘’visionary, multidisciplinary company operating at the intersection of movement, culture, education and creative entrepreneurship’’.
