300 Soweto families receive homes in Jabulani Parcel K development
A long-awaited housing allocation in Jabulani has provided hundreds of local families with completed, fully connected homes.
Three hundred qualifying families in Jabulani, Soweto, have received new homes as part of the second phase of housing allocations at Jabulani Parcel K.
Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi, Human Settlements MEC Tasneem Motara, City of Johannesburg Executive Mayor Dada Morero and Human Settlements MMC Councillor Mlungisi Mabaso led the handover of the completed homes to beneficiaries.

Beneficiaries have been urged to protect their homes and not sell or rent them out, as the houses are intended to provide secure shelter for qualifying families.
Lesufi apologised to residents in Jabulani for the delay in allocating the completed houses. He said the homes had remained vacant for too long due to delays in electricity installation.
Lesufi praised the beneficiaries for their patience during the delay, noting that they had refrained from invading the houses while waiting for electricity connections. He said their patience and conduct during the process had won their hearts.
Lesufi also reassured residents who are still waiting for houses that their homes would be delivered.
