Innate Quality can make all

By Trevor Reid

The Greyville track seems to bring out the very best from Innate Quality with two wins and two places from four starts.

In one of those wins jockey MJ Odendaal gave the gelding a peach of ride by quickening well clear some way out and never being in trouble to score by 6.25 lengths from subsequent dual winner Victory Emblem.

This five-year-old has not quite run up to that form since but his third place behind Bold Inspiration here in October could be good enough to win this.

Jockey Donovan Dillon was aboard Innate Quality that day so knows him well enough and hopefully will use the positive tactics that suit.

The feature of the night is the Grade 3 Flamboyant Stakes (Race 7) over 1600m and the class three-year-old filly Same Jurisdiction makes a return to the track which saw her win some big features already.

Clearly Same Jurisdiction will not be in peak condition but should make a bold bid to win this and bring some respectability to what has been some disappointing results for three-year-olds in open company.
